The Power Plant Condominiums were developed by Washington Landmark Construction, headed by Karl Voglmayr. The structures that make up the Power Plant complex were in complete disrepair. Karl and Washington Landmark Construction transformed them into high quality spaces that are a pleasure to live in and look at. I see this as nothing short of remarkable! Karl’s extraordinary vision and passion for development of the Power Plant abound everywhere you look. Equally important to me is Washington Landmark Construction’s response to problems that arise. Any project of this size is bound to have a list of follow-up issues. The challenge of creating a modern living space from century old underpinnings makes having to deal with these types of issues even more understandable. Karl has worked hard to consistently come through to resolve issues to my satisfaction. Alan H.

It has been a pleasure working with Washington Landmark Construction since early 2015 when we began discussions to purchase the first unit in the beautifully restored Gymnasium at NPS. Washington Landmark Construction has a great reputation and has always been very attentive to our needs while providing very personalized service including assistance with the Historic Preservation and Brownsfield County and State Property Tax Credits. From the initial walkthrough until the present Mr. Voglmayr has been thorough and professional. He was open to suggestions as to design modifications and follow through completely with all punch list items and needed corrections. He also suggested design features that we had not thought of and have been grateful for.  Mark A.

Mr. Voglmayr along with his building engineer, Adi Nair, and all other associated staff of Washington Landmark Construction have worked tirelessly to help us before and after we occupied our unit, in many cases going above and beyond what we might have expected. He has made good on his promise to remain involved with the building…  David M.

When I moved to NPS in 2010, the Gymnasium was in deep trouble. All of that changed once Washington Landmark Construction acquired the property. To everyone’s relief, they began work immediately. Karl and Trevor and their construction crews (beginning in 2015 through 2017) worked tirelessly- often six days a week, sometimes more- and NPS residents had a front row seat on the dramatic transformation they have achieved. Despite the extreme challenges the developer faced during this restoration, Washington Landmark made it a point to be a good neighbor. Karl met and consulted with the community and its leaders regularly to make sure their work was carried out in accordance with the Master Home Owners’ Association Rules and with as little disruption as possible to the community. Karl personally took me on a tour of the various units under development sharing the history, explaining the construction techniques used, and describing his vision for the completed project with such enthusiasm and pride that it was contagious. One could see this was not just a business venture, but a labor of love. How someone could take what were basically school building ruins, and turn them into such beauty with well throughout reuse was just astounding.   Karl told us that we were now part of the “family” and he was true to his word. As we encountered problems with the real estate agent on the sale of our old home, Karl made calls of assistance. When our bank made a mistake on our bridge loan and I had to escalate the issue, Karl lent me his support once again.  At a time when it seems like “they don’t build things like they used to” and businesses are usually done and gone once a sale is complete, it is a refreshing experience to find a team that is so committed to their project and their buyers. While not fully ready and the remaining 12 still under early renovation stages, I had no hesitation to give you the first unit deposit. As a former small business owner and independent consultant, one learns quickly that creating honest, professional customer-driven relationships and work from a level of high integrity are the true keys for success no matter the industry. Karl, you exhibited all these traits and more as an architect, contractor, and seller.  I’ve noted you always take the high road in everything you do. I would also be remiss not to say how much Diane Voglmayr brings to the Washington Landmark Company and ensures the financials, the handling of a myriad of vendor expenses and keeping everyone on track and is a value add to your team. Diane was most thorough and responsive during my own purchasing process, clearing deed issues, HOA/tax related payments and numerous questions. She is a “backbone” at WLC and has become such a dear friend along with your entire family! Karen C.
